It’s the SBID Design awards, and we’ve made the finals! PLEASE VOTE FOR US!
With less than month of voting to go, we thought we’d share with you our exciting journey with The Society of British and International Interior Design (SBID) awards. To give you an insight in to not only how we came to be nominated, but also why it’s so important to us as a company to be recognised in this way and to ask that you please add your vote for us.
The SBID Design awards has been firmly established as one of the most prestigious interior design awards in the global design calendar. It attracts entries from across the world and for us to have even been considered for an award is truly an honour.
The awards recognise, reward and celebrate design across a wide range of categories within the interior design world and has a judging panel of highly respected industry experts.
When we were first asked if we would like to enter we were delighted – after all, to even be considered was a compliment. We entered three of our projects and the project that was finally chosen was a residential project that we are extremely proud of.
It was for our client La Rock who asked us to produce CGI’s to showcase an interior design scheme for a large house renovation they were working on in Holland Park, London. As a luxury interior design company, La Rock specialise in producing all of the complex cabinetry and furniture for all of their projects.
This kind of bespoke cabinetry can sometimes be difficult for clients to visualise as a finished look. Therefore, they needed accurately modelled 3D CGI’s that clearly showed the quality of the materials used, specifically the wood finishes, the brass inlays and the marble detail – in its finished setting. As all of the furniture was custom designed, we had to build 3D models of everything.
We created the imagery accurately and brought it to life with natural light effects to create the luxury aesthetic that was required of a project of this standard. We also had to ensure the rest of the design reflected the work of the agency and so worked closely with the client to get every single detail right from the type of light shade to the marble used. We knew we had to give a real sense of how the house would feel as well as the design aesthetic, so getting the natural light right was key to this. Luckily our team of designers really understand their stuff and know how to make a visual shine – excuse the pun!
The finished images were just what our client needed to get the final sign off on what could have been a difficult concept to visualise. A quick sign off means the client can go ahead and start the work giving their client the finished result quickly and efficiently.
Our team of designers thoroughly enjoyed every part of this project but particularly loved creating the kitchen visuals which featured bespoke lighting within the shelving, glass cabinetry and a booth style seating area.
